Janek Simon (b. 1977) lives and works in Warsaw. He is a conceptual artist and occasional curator whose work engages with cultural geography, and in particular the question of difference and distance between places, anarchism, and self-made technology and its political potential. His work has been shown at, among others, Manifesta 7, the Liverpool, Guangzhou, Prague and Ljubljana Biennales, and in solo exhibitions at Arnolfini in Bristol, Casino Luxembourg, and numerous public institutions in Poland. In 2007 he received the main prize in the Spojrzenia competition and was nominated for the Polityka Passport award. He was co-founder of the autonomous art space Goldex Poldex in Kraków.
