Katarzyna Roj, Joanna Synowiec — A tale of adventure and homecoming
Joanna Synowiec: Holidays are a comfort that I inevitably associate with shamelessly lounging around and reading books outdoors. Klara experiences this for the first time when she goes on a short vacation. That is why, after the screening, we invite you to join us for a group reading.
Reading is a solitary experience, although it often takes place in the midst of nature and people moving around us. They form the backdrop to this intimate moment – the creation of parallel worlds. What if we multiplied these worlds and joined together in a choir with many readings that we would hear and read aloud? Is this a shared vacation in parallel worlds?
In the park, I encourage you to make yourself comfortable on a deckchair and read aloud to yourself and others an excerpt from a book I have chosen. You can bring your own reading material and share it. The sum of these readings will become our rest.
Reading can be a rest after work—it was a form of rest familiar to me from my father—which is why I associate it with coming home.
