Magda Buczek is a Polish visual artist based in Copenhagen. In her practice, she collages text and post-consumer materials to create multimedia narratives around identity, migration, motherhood, and the culture of late capitalism. Buczek is also the founder of SURPLUS – a long-term project mixing poetry, fashion, and activism. Her work has recently been exhibited at Den Frie and Collega gallery in Copenhagen, and Super Dakota in Brussels.

In 2020, together with Bartek Arobal Kociemba, she co-founded VLP – a gallery focused on the intersection of Eastern European and Scandinavian art, circling around notions of otherness and belonging. VLP recently launched the Resilience Residency in Copenhagen, aimed at artists from Eastern European regions affected by political and social crises.
