BLERTA HAZIRAJ is a filmmaker and researcher from Kosovo whose work explores women’s histories and archives through experimental film, print, and exhibition formats.

Her short documentaries center on women’s lives in rural Kosovo, including How I Failed Documenting Male Gaze (Kino Armata, 2021), Your Eyes and Hands Must Be Seen Everywhere (CHwB, 2022), and The Future is Better, Comrade (Autostrada Biennale, 2023), developed as part of her research and exhibition on the Women’s Antifascist Front of Kosovo.

She is the co-founder of Pykë-Presje, a collective committed to local histories, printed matter (Haxhi Ymer Lutfi Paqarizi poems; Albanian Summer Picaresque), feminist practices (Women’s Antifascist Front of Kosovo; ATO fanzine) and archival exhibitions (Yerin Dibi; Manifesta 14). Blerta has collaborated with institutions such as DokuFest, Hajde Foundation, and the Kosovo Cinematography Center, contributing to a range of artistic and research-based initiatives.

Blerta received the Prince Claus Seed Award 2023 and is currently studying Directing at FAMU International, Prague.
