Marta Czyż nominated as artistic director of “Konteksty”

The In Situ Foundation is pleased to announce the nomination of Marta Czyż as the artistic director of the Konteksty Festival of Ephemeral Art in Sokołowsko.

Marta Czyż – art historian, independent curator and critic. Curator of the Polish Pavilion at the 60th International Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia (together with the project “Repeat After me II” by Open Group – Yuriy Biley, Pavlo Kovach and Anton Varga).

In her practice, she uses archives and recent events in art history that influence culture and social movements. She researches the history of exhibitions in Poland and the issues of the curatorial profession. She was already the curator of the 10th Konteksty Festival of Ephemeral Art in 2020.

She publishes books and critical texts. She is associated with the History Meeting House in Warsaw on a daily basis. She is a scholarship holder of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage. Member of the Board of the Polish Section of AICA (International Association of Art Critics).
