Kateryna Iakovlenko
Kateryna Iakovlenko is a Ukrainian writer, visual culture researcher, and curator who explores the impact of war on art and memory. In her practice, Iakovlenko transforms archival and documentary material about war into exhibitions, nonfiction publications, and librettos, which open new perspectives on understanding traumatic experiences. Her curatorial career spans major Ukrainian cultural institutions, including Labirynt Gallery, PinchukArtCentre, and Izolyatsya. Her innovative curatorial projects range from traditional gallery exhibitions to experimental formats, including “Everyone is Afraid of the Baker, but I am Grateful,” an apartment exhibition in a building damaged by the Russian army in Irpin, and the groundbreaking Ukrainian edition of “Secondary Archive” project co-curated with her colleagues.
